Job Responsibility
- Mainly assist the HOD or Deputy HOD for managing, overseeing and guiding the marine cargo underwriting and lead portfolio and business development for the Marine business
- Assist to manage and drive growth for the portfolio which working within established guidelines to ensure that portfolio is underwritten to meet line of business targeted ratios for losses, commissions, as well as expenses
- Assist to manage all Marine insurance distribution channels (Agents, Brokers, Direct clients, and alternative distributors)
- To source/build up new business relationship, analysis profitability of accounts and prepare quotations and other correspondence for new enquires
- Assist in negotiation of premium rates & policy terms for new/renewal policies.
- Assist in development of Online Cargo Portal in processing of B2B &/or any other system inputs
- Train, coach and develop marine employees to assure required level of expertise, performance, and succession variability
- Assist to manage all marine-related service relationships with external and internal service platforms
- Building reputation for service leadership
- Any other jobs assigned by the company
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree and/or be ANZIFF or ACII certified.
- The candidate must possess a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the marine insurance underwriting industry.
- Extensive existing networks within the Marine Industry and a deep knowledge of the same are essential requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are mandatory.
- The candidate should have experience managing people and the ability to motivate a team. Strong people skills and the ability to work independently are crucial.
- The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and be able to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within designated authority.
