Back for the 2nd Year: Coastal Clean Up 2024
China Taiping SG together with China Enterprise Association joined forces for our annual Coastal Clean Up Day. We are honoured to have the officials representing the Chinese Embassy to grace our event.
Together with 170 participants from over 60 companies, we collected more than 985 kgs of rubbish, making a huge impact on keeping our shores clean and beautiful! Through this event, China Taiping SG actively contributed to building a sustainable green Singapore.

Coastal Clean Up 2023
Together with China Enterprise Association, China Taiping SG organised a coastal cleanup event at East Coast Park. It was an early morning of hard work with more than 120 participants from our business partners joining us in this meaningful event.
All participants went all the way out to collect all the trashes. Collectively, we were proud to have collected close to 400kg of trash! This was a wonderful activity to engage everyone to support a sustainable green living.

Go Green with eComms
In our deliberate effort to be part of the “Go Green” movement to reduce carbon footprint, we have switched from paper-based statements, notices and letters to electronic communications (“eComms”). With eComms, our Life Insurance policyholders will receive information on their policies in a timely manner.
At China Taiping SG, we strive to continuously support a sustainable green living.

Coastal Clean Up Day
In conjunction with International Coastal Clean Up Day, we organised a Coastal Clean Up at East Coast Park. Braving under the hot sun, the management team and employees worked hard to be the biggest trash collector. Our efforts paid off – collectively we had collected a total of 300kg of trash!
At the end of the activity, everyone felt a huge sense of achievement and joy seeing the coast all clean and beautiful. We aim to continue to play our part in eliminating pollution along our beaches and to bring cleanliness and purity to nature as a whole.

Promoting Green Insurance
China Taiping Insurance Singapore has been actively promoting Green Insurance with clean energy and environmental protection :
- Provided construction coverage of S$1.5 billion to 6 Housing and Development Board projects in 2021.
- Underwritten for wind power and solar energy with coverage of S$450 million coverage.
- Launched EV charger coverage for its Commercial Property and Public Liability insurance in late 2021.
- Issued Performance Bond amounting close to S$17.5 million for an environmental conservation project.

Plant-a-Tree CSR Event
In support of the OneMillionTrees movement, we partnered with National Parks Board to organise a meaningful Plant-a-Tree CSR event. Our senior management and employees put on their gardening gloves, immersed themselves in the great outdoors at Coney Island and planted a total of 50 trees. We are extremely proud to be part of this movement to make this little red dot a greener place.

Plant-based Snack Month
As part of our go green initiatives, we encourage our employees to lead a more eco-friendly live by eating less meat and going plant-based. We had a plant-based snack month in September whereby nuts, grains & beans snacks were distributed every week. These vegan snacks not only come with health benefits such as lowering cholesterol levels and chances of heart disease, they also help reduce carbon emission.

A Greener Workplace
We are making a committed change to become a greener workplace for the betterment of our planet. Some of our many sustainable efforts in the office includes:
- More recycling bins in the office
- Using e-documents instead of printed ones
- Switching off the lights during lunch hour
- Replacing desktops with laptops to save 80% of energy

Virtual Lunch Talk : Redesigning, Rethinking for a Sustainable Green Living
To kickstart our Go Green journey, we organised an informative lunch talk for our employees in collaboration with Terra SG. The talk highlighted how climate change affects Singapore and how we can rethink possibilities in sustainability. Biodegradable and compostable cutlery was used during lunch as our way of supporting the green movement.
There was also a virtual tour of the Sustainable Singapore Gallery covering water management and zero-waste initiatives and a fun demo on how to make a “paper wallet” using upcycled materials.
Through this virtual talk, our employees had a better understanding of sustainability and how individuals can play a part in our Go Green journey.
