Register as an Agent

1. Applicants for Individual Representative or Nominee Representative must:
  • be at least 18 years of age;
  • be a Singapore citizen/PR or a foreigner with a valid Work Permit or Employment Pass issued by the Ministry of Manpower; and
  • obtain at least 3 GCE “O” Level credit passes.

2. A corporate applicant, which is a company registered with the Registrar of Companies, must have a minimum paid-up capital of S$25,000 at the time of application and must maintain the same level of paid-up capital during throughout its registration with the Agent Registration Board.

3. Applicant must possess these professional qualifications :
  • Certificate in General Insurance (CGI), or the following:
  • Basic Insurance Concept & Principles (BCP)
  • Personal General Insurance (PGI)
  • Commercial General Insurance (ComGI)
  • Health Insurance (HI)
Or other acceptable qualifications in lieu of CGI.

4. Applicant should have at least 2 years’ experience in the General Insurance industry.

1. Please ensure that you have met the competence requirements and possess the professional qualifications.
2. Complete the pre-interview form and email to e-agency@sg.cntaiping.com. We will arrange an interview if you are shortlisted.
2.1 The following (applicable) forms are to be completed and submitted to e-agency@sg.cntaiping.com after our interview / shortlisting:

  1. Download the pdf forms first onto your own PC / notebook before you begin to fill in the form details.
  2. Do not complete the forms while using the web browser.
  3. If you are using the older ADOBE version or Windows 7 and below, you must save the completed pdf form in your own hard drive first and send it as an attachment in your email to e-agency@sg.cntaiping.com
  4. Otherwise, proceed to click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the form after completion and follow the steps accordingl
3. Create and submit an introduction with a business plan together with the pre-interview form.
4. Email the pre-interview form and business plan to e-agency@sg.cntaiping.com. Please allow 14 working days for our shortlist.
5. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview. Please complete and submit the full application form and other relevant documents when you attend the interview.
6. Upon a successful interview, your application will be submitted to GIAS for approval.
7. After the GIAS approval is received, you will be required to sign an Agency Agreement with China Taiping Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
8. An Agency Account number will be allocated to you and you must use this account number for all correspondences with China Taiping Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd., including submissions of business applications.
